IS OUR ETHICS AND ANTI-CORRUPTION COMMISSION STIL A LIVE?
Corruption is something we talk about,it is something we complain about,it is something whose negative impact we recognize,it is something that even the corrupt acknowledge as a bad thing but the irony and tragedy at once is that those who engage in it love it,those who do not engage in it directly accommodate it.Our level of tolerance for corruption in Kenya and indeed Africa is amazing.A long time a go,a great Greek philosopher said that it is in the nature of man to hang a small thief and to elect greater ones into public office. We do that in Kenya,Uganda,Nigeria and indeed other countries in Africa.
When the Rtd. ARCHBISHOP DR. ELIUD WABUKALA was appointed in January 2017 to head the commission,Kenyans had high hopes on him especially after he gave a successful leadership at all the Anglican Churches of Kenya. He has already taken 135days in the office since his appointment but him and his fellow commissioners have done totally nothing in that office and that does not imply that no corruption is taking place.I don't want to start believing that him as the Chair and his fellow commissioners are just there to earn huge salaries and wait for their term to expire.Kenyans want to feel their presence through action.
It is very difficult for the anti-corruption crusaders to complete their full term in office and if they do,it is because they refused to fight corruption during their time.Immediate former EACC Mumo Matemo, his predecessor Prof.P.L.O Lumumba and the founding head of the institution John Harun Mwau all have one thing in common;they were fighting corruption and because of that, they were hounded out of the office at different times before their terms were over. The trio were out to fight corruption but from the look of things,it seems that the current EACC leadership is under stun instructions from the executive that they should not fight corruption but appear to be fighting corruption
The other day,a lot of money were lost at the Ministry of Health which led to the withdrawal of 2Billion donor funds by the US government and many more corruption and unethical activities perpetrated by the government top brass
Wabukala should know that Integrity center is not a church where you sing, pray and wait for God's devine intervention. It's time for serious work!!

Immediate former EACC
chair Mumo Matemu, his predecessor PLO Lumumba and the founding head of
the institution John Harun Mwau say the fight against corruption has
assumed a decidedly circus pattern which has no end on sight.
Their reasons as to why Kenya has not moved an inch are however
different. All the three were hounded out of office at different times
before their terms were over.
