WHY LUO COMMUNITY IN KENYA REMAINS POOR DESPITE HIGHLY EDUCATED
My country Kenya has has a total of 43 tribes but majority of them have several sub tribes.Surprisingly,5 tribes make up to 70% of the entire Kenyan population. The Kikuyu community is the biggest tribe,which represent 22% of the entire population of 51,987,331 as at 30th April 2019 (estimates)followed by Luhya,Luo,Kalenjin,Kamba and Kisii respectively. Why then is Luo nation remains among the poorest communities despite being the HIGHLY educated lot in Kenya Ideally,Luos should be ranked among the wealthiest tribe in Kenya ,but there are basic things they do that negate the short term gains they may have achieved.
